The game tracks hypothermia across four progressive stages, each triggering specific visual distortions and control limitations that simulate the physiological effects of extreme cold.
The crafting engine allows you to combine 47 different resource types scavenged from frozen ruins into survival tools, insulated clothing layers, and temporary shelters. Each crafted item has a durability meter that depletes faster in blizzard conditions, forcing constant resource management and strategic planning around weather patterns that shift every 6 in-game hours.
Navigation relies on a fog-of-war map system where visibility extends only 200 meters in clear conditions and drops to 40 meters during whiteouts. The procedural generation algorithm creates unique frozen landscapes for each playthrough, mixing abandoned research stations, ice cave networks, and treacherous glacier fields with randomized loot distribution and hazard placement.
